A1A Jupiter Beach Rd to US Hwy 1 Bicycle Lanes and Sidewalks
October 30th, 2014 at the Town of Jupiter Council Chambers, bids were opened and announced for the project, A1A Jupiter Beach Road to US Hwy 1 Bicycle Lanes and Sidewalks. Mancil’s stood as the lowest, most responsive bidder and was awarded the contract in January of 2015 with a value of $3,229,704.17. This project is funded through grants provided by the Federal Government and implemented by the Town of Jupiter with the continuous support of the Jupiter Community Redevelopment Agency. The project consist of providing bicycle and pedestrian friendly passage ways with the installation of bike lanes, uninterrupted sidewalks, pedestrian crosswalks, landscape, irrigation and street lights. There will also be roadway and infrastructure improvements including underground utilities.
Mancil’s involvement is considered phase 2 in the Town of Jupiter’s estimated $8 million overall project. For a more detailed scope of work, Mancil’s contract involves: clearing, grubbing, site demolition, excavation, stormwater, wastewater, drainage, asphalt, milling and resurfacing, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, concrete parking stalls, sodding, landscaping, irrigation, pavement markings, signage and lighting. These improvements will beautify this location drawing in seasonal visitors and significantly help the congestion of this area for the year round residents and bicyclist.
